An Introduction to Prayer Counselling
(one-day seminar)

This seminar introduces participants to biblical teaching and practical insights on the healing activity of God in touching hearts and rebuilding lives. It begins by looking at the spiritual condition of believers in the Kingdom of God and how, like a bird with broken wings, they have been hindered from soaring to great heights, or bearing such abundance of spiritual fruit in God. It then examines how a poor or inadequate understanding and appreciation of the love of God, coupled with wrong beliefs, choices and actions, can become major causes of the many personal and spiritual conflicts that hold people in bondage. Finally, it looks at what is needed for believers to be set free and released to become the people of God, enjoying the abundant life, and making a difference in both natural and spiritual realms.

Restoring Your Wholeness in Christ
(one-day seminar)

Despite what they know to be the truth: that Jesus Christ came to Earth so that His people may have life and have it to the full, many Christians today do not consistently experience or live out this abundant life. There are many possible reasons for this: rejection, a poor self-image, false guilt, self-condemnation, pronouncements, inner vows, depression, fear, anxiety, even chronic illness or disease.

Beginning with God's design for mankind at creation, the Fall and its consequences, the seminar traces how man's personal and spiritual problems can result in brokenness in spirit, soul (mind, emotion, will) and body. Looking next at the nature of the human person, participants are shown how the different parts of a person can be sick and dysfyunctional. It then discusses how the lack of emotional nurture limits healthy growth and development, and finally the essential keys to help believers who are wounded and broken find restoration and wholeness again in Christ.

Healing through Deliverance
(one-day seminar)

The Bible declares that those who choose to follow Jesus Christ will be subjected to much persecution because of the opposing works of satan and his demons. However, those who know God's Word and the truth about satan and his host, will be in a better position to resist and overcome these spiritual enemies.

This seminar looks at how these works of darkness can be exposed, overcome, and the captive people of God released. Participants are introduced to the nature of the spiritual realms, the influence spiritual forces can have on believers, and the consequences resulting from occultic activity. It also addresses the issue of demonization: how demons gain entry and control and their effect on family lines, before concluding with teaching on how to be set free through deliverance ministry.

Honouring Godly Sex and Sexuality
(one-day seminar)

In the space of just one generation, standards of sexual morality and practice have undergone such tremendous and radical change - departing significantly from God's creation ordinances - that they threaten to break down godly relationships, marriages, family life and even communities. There is a need to arrest this destructive and deteriorating trend.

The challenge is for individual believers and congregations to understand and apply what God and the Bible teach about male and female sexuality, the nature and purpose of sex, the roots and consequences of sexual sin, and how to flee or recover from sexual wrongdoing. This one-day seminar is a frank and discerning look at the sexual revolution from God's point of view, and the way forward to an appropriate Christian response.

Reclaiming the Ground
(one-day seminar)

The Fall of Man soon after his creation, resulted in significant, even eternal, consequences -- to Man, the Land and Creation itself. Sin entered the world, and separated all mankind from God. Disease, danger, destruction, defeat, disgrace, destitution, poverty and death followed. At the same time, the ground became cursed, and further defiled by subsequent sin and pollution.

This seminar addresses the specific issue of defilement and curse on land and buildings, and how they may be restored to their rightful and beneficial use. Participants get to learn the biblical concept of holy ground, causes and consequences of defilement and curse, and how defiled land and buildings can be reclaimed for godly use, before ending the seminar with a challenge to total consecration in God based on a model from Scripture.

Making Sense of Your Emotions
(one-day seminar)

Positive emotions are good and to be desired, whereas negative emotions must be identified, processed and released in godly ways.

This seminar helps participants to better understand the dynamics of their emotional makeup as human persons, and how to have a better handle on managing their emotions for positive benefit - especially negative and destructive emotions such as fear, worry and anxiety.

The seminar also explores the link between the lack of godly nurture and a healthy personal identity and emotional damage - particularly the consequences of spiritual, psychological and biological sicknesses and diseases. Insights from the Bible help to identify key steps that can be taken by wounded individuals to return to emotional wholeness and health.

Power and Purity
(one-day seminar)

Without their being really aware of it, many Christians have an intellectual assent to the teachings and truths of the Bible rather than a dynamic, living outworking of the same. Consequently, in their day to day discipleship, they struggle to overcome sin, the flesh, the world and satan.

The Word of God clearly states that the Christian is not alone and without help in his struggle to live out his faith: he has the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit of God, which not only confirms his status as God’s child, but also in producing godly or Christlike character or fruit of the Holy Spirit.

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against this there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV)

In fact, far too many Christians “stop” in their discipleship with desiring the fruit of the Spirit, and fail to go on to seek the infilling of the Holy Spirit which is essential for empowerment to live a victorious, powerful and overcoming life.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

The Power & Purity Seminar provides insightful teaching on the person of the Holy Spirit, His roles, and workings in the life of the Christian. It also examines the doctrine of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit; surveys some of the men and women in the Bible—including the Lord Jesus—and studies how their lives were radically transformed through encounter with the Holy Spirit.

Finally, the seminar looks at the issue of purity, and how the growth in purity—with the help of the Holy Spirit—is equally essential in realizing and embracing one’s identity and fulfilling one’s destiny as a child of God to His glory and honour.

From Crises to Destiny, from Success to Significance: The Mid-Life Transition
(one-day seminar)

From a secular perspective, the term "mid-life crisis" describes the personal turmoil and coping challenges in people age 39 through 55, as they realize their own mortality and a change in time frame from "time since birth" to "time left to live." This turmoil includes worries about the future, deteriorating health, marital relationship, work, finance, and stresses arising from taking care of the elderly.

From a spiritual perspective, however, the mid-life crisis encountered by Christians is more than a concern or worry about the future; it is in essence a "crisis of identity." When believers define their meaning and being - their self-esteem, their self-worth and their security - in terms of what they do (work) and have (possessions) rather than in who they are in Christ (identity) and what they have been called to be (destiny) in Christ, this precipitates personal and spiritual conflicts which if left unresolved can lead to healing crises in adult life.

The key to overcoming the mid-life transition - moving from crisis to destiny and from success to significance - lies in understanding that man is made by God for unique identity and destiny, and that the lack of vital nurture growing up contributes to the formation of a damaged if not broken individual who because of that woundedness has to resort to coping mechanisms in order to survive the challenges and stresses of daily living. When these coping mechanisms fail, crises develop.

The challenge is for Christians in mid-life, struggling with unresolved personal and spiritual conflicts to have a paradigm shift from self to God, to desire and embrace proactive change: to return to God for identity, purpose and destiny - by embracing the Lordship of Jesus in all areas of life, to repent and take responsibility for personal sins and generational iniquity, to forgive self and others for ungodly mindsets and beliefs, to release self from regrets and failures of the past, and to welcome the opportunity to live life in celebration of the glory of God.

Embracing Your Identity and Destiny
(one-day seminar)

God's ideal plan for man from the creation of the world is that we know, love and serve Him all the days of our lives. He put in place the foundations for godly relationships - of marriage, home and loving family structures - both to reveal and to establish His love in the hearts of His children.

Man is thus born for both identity and destiny. IDENTITY is the knowledge and quality of being a special, unique person in God's creation. And true identity, including all that such identity brings, comes only from God who created man. DESTINY, on the other hand, defines life purpose and gives it its true meaning. Destiny gives a reason and explanation for a person's existence, and ultimately fulfilment in life comes from the fulfilment of one's personal destiny. True success follows obedience in outworking this destiny.

The reality of our human experience in most cases, however, is quite the opposite to God's ideal for man. Sin issues rising from a neglect, absence or lack of godly nurture have separated man from God, from himself and from others - resulting in pain, damage and dysfunction in spirit, soul and body. Unresolved, these personal and spiritual conflicts hinder breakthroughs into success, fruitfulness and relationship with God.

This one-day seminar is a call to hear God - to return to the identity and destiny in Him. To return to true identity and destiny in God is to return to living in godly success, abundance, fruitfulness, fulfilment, divine health and wholeness. To return to true identity and destiny is to experience the reality of John 10:10 and Jeremiah 29:11.

The Father-Heart of God
(one-day seminar)

God is love! This is the definitive Word of God in 1 John 4:16. No other creature in heaven or on earth has the love that God has. In His immense love, God created us so that He could delight in us. He expects us to be able to reciprocate this by loving Him with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind; and in a similar way, to love our families and neighbours as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39).

God is typified as a father: He is Father to Jesus, and also our Heavenly Father (Hebrews 2:11). He wants us all to be in His big family—the family of God—where He is the loving Father to us, and we all brothers and sisters in Christ.

Unfortunately, through the Fall of Man, sin came into the world and spoilt all relationships with suspicion, jealousy, hatred, fear and shame. Not only do we not love our neighbours as ourselves—as God wills—we may not have experienced caring and loving families because we may not have had perfect parents placed over us to represent God.

As a result, we grow up with problems and difficulties rooted in insecurity, rejection, aggression or withdrawal; we have a God-shaped void in our hearts which leaves us unfulfilled and wanting.

The Father-Heart of God seminar teaches what a perfect Father and perfect sons (daughters) of God should be, by studying His love: “the love that asks no questions, the love that stands the test; when laid upon the altar, the dearest and the best.” It also explores why we fail to know God’s love, why we struggle so much in our relationships, and finally how we can begin to experience God’s love.

As we accept God as He is and receive His love with child-like trust, God will remove our negative attitudes and satisfy our deepest longings—which is to love and be loved.

Touching Heaven, Changing Earth
(one-day seminar)

God's word tells us that we are to be His light and salt in the world; partners in the rescue and restoration of a humanity that has forgetten the goodness of its heavenly Creator. For the believer to succeed in this task, he or she needs to be living and walking under open heavens and not heavens of brass or iron.

This seminar teaches what it means to live in the power of a Spirit-filled, sanctified life - that is, a life given over to God in obedience and service to His Word. It also offers helpful pointers on how to become an unhindered and open channel for God's anointing to flow through to bring change and transformation - in the individual and in the community; embracing the spiritual realities involved in positively affecting situations and impacting lives.

Understanding and Overcoming Depression
(one-day seminar)

We all experience difficulties in life that leave us feeling moody or depressed. In most cases these "mood swings" pass as the precipitating problems are resolved or overcome. However, in some cases, these moody feelings persist and develop into episodes of depression.

As a "whole-person" condition involving the spirit, soul and body, severe or prolonged depression can adversely affect a person's thoughts, health, appetite, sleep, work, relationships, behaviour and more. It is not easily willed or wished away and sufferers often find it difficult to "pull themselves together" and get better.

The good news is that depression can be treated and overcome. Appropriate treatment coupled with an understanding of the spiritual - as well as psychological - roots and nature of depression, and awareness of the signs and triggers can greatly help a person towards recovery and healing in God.

This seminar offers a wholistic and practical Christian approach to understanding and overcoming depression.

A Comprehensive Approach to Cancer
(one-day seminar)

God who created us is utterly interested in every aspect and detail of our lives - including our bodies. In 3 John 2, the Bible tells us that our bodies should be as healthy as our souls! Thus in looking to understand our physical problems and symptoms, it is equally - if not more - important to look at the health of our spirit, mind, will and emotion (i.e. the soul).

In looking to understand the problem of cancer, it is not enough to merely consider how cancer occurs in the body, how to identify it, how to deal with it medically, or how to prevent it. Instead we need to look deeper beyond the natural dimension to the spiritual, and especially to the spiritual roots to problems and the principles that can be applied in prevention of the disease or in divine healing.

The seminar provides a layman’s medical understanding of how normal and cancerous cells grow, what natural defences God has provided for us, and how these defences can break down. It touches on some accepted causes of cancer while debunking other anecdotal, popular but unproven causes which have often brought about unwanton fear in many people. It will also provide valuable insights into means and methods of managing cancer.

Topics covered include:

  • Health and normal growth
  • Cancer: detection, diagnosis, management
  • Biblical principles of health and disease
  • Right Godly Choices

Battle for the Soul
(one-day seminar)

Breaking the Occult Bondage
(one-day seminar)

Despite the proliferation of material available in print and on different kinds of media, much uncertainty—even confusion—exists among Christians over the issue of the Occult. Compounding the problem of understanding are the many myths and popular ideas often associated with the issue.

Precisely because of this, it has become easier for the enemy to cloud the issue and further confuse and deceive unsuspecting believers concerning the real dangers and consequences of participating in the Occult; especially the dangers of deep spiritual bondage, oppression and serious mental problems in their lives.

Bondage to the Occult, whether due to voluntary causes or involuntary causes, is one of the major reasons why many believers encounter great difficulty in drawing close to God and living an intimate relationship with Him.

And so long as believers remain deceived and ignorant of the devices of the enemy, they will continue to be bound and limited in their freedom, effectiveness and fruitfulness in the Kingdom of God.

This Breaking the Occult Bondage seminar is an attempt to provide believers with a biblical understanding and response to the subject of the Occult. The seminar teaches that knowledge of the truth—as revealed in the Word of God—and obedience to that Word, are what will ultimately set believers free from the consequences of bondage to the Occult.

The seminar examines biblical teaching on the Spirit Realms; the Nature, Characteristics and Manifestations of the Occult; the Dangers and Consequences of conscious participation in the Occult; and concludes by offering vital keys to Breaking Free from the Bondage to the Occult.

Control, Domination and Manipulation
(one-day seminar)

GOD made man to have a loving, trusting relationship with Him and with each other. To demonstrate His love and trust He gave mankind the gift of freewill.

This gift of freewill is a sacred privilege; a privilege that God will not rescind as it would violate our individuality and humanity. Even when it comes down to the matter of eternal life or death, God does not compel, but with gentleness and in diverse ways encourages, persuades and coaxes for a positive response.

Jesus gave His life on the Cross for us; He did this willingly so that the power of Satan can be broken and the way opened for man to choose eternal life, and to have control over his own will and destiny.

Satan, on the other hand, is out to rob, to steal and to kill. He compels man to sin, to anger, to manipulate others so that he can have his own way in the family, in society and even in church. He does this subtly such that if we are not vigilant, we can fall victim to his cunning devices.

Man thus learns to dominate, control and manipulate others or is himself dominated, controlled and manipulated such that personal rights are deprived. Consequently, lives are made miserable, as relationships with God and other people are damaged.

God desires to see His people living in freedom and wholeness, and He loves to set them free from yielding their freewill to others, and from violating the freewill of others.

This seminar on Domination, Control and Manipulation looks at the gift of freewill; right relationships and the dangers of domination, control and manipulation. The origins, root causes, and characteristics of this behaviour will be examined, to enable participants to identify and expose its presence in individuals and churches.

Healing from Accident and Trauma
(one-day seminar)

Accidents and traumas may be physical - like falling off a rooftop or building, or surviving a natural disaster like flood, fire or a road accident. They may also be psychological - like when a person is the victim of physcial assault or sexual abuse, or survivor of a failed suicide attempt. Or they may be emotional in nature - like constantly being at the receiving end of verbal abuse, cruel words, rejection, control, domination, manipulation or the torment of deprivation.

Whenever these occur, they often leave consequences upon the spirit, soul and body of a person, and manifest in the form of a physical limp or depression. Such indications may sometimes be tied to damage to the inner person as well - damage which is evidenced, for example, in an inexplicable inability to breakthrough and be victorious, or a pervading sense of gloom and doom, or a depressing sense of failure. Consequently, such believers continue to survive and function, but not as abundantly or fruitfully as God desires.

This seminar teaches that through appropriate, godly and righteous steps it is possible to be healed and set free from the debilitating effects of deep and destructive consequences of accidents and traumas.

Defeating Anxieties, Fears and Phobias
(one-day seminar)

Rational fears are vital for human survival. However, when these fear responses become irrational, chronic, crippling or debilitating they can result in a personal dysfunction including illness and sicknesses like mental illness and the lack of emotional well-being.

The challenges and demands of today's high-tech, fast-paced and very stressful world do little to allevate our fear and anxiety responses. In fact, the Bible warns of times of increasing stress and evil in the coming days. There is thus an urgent need to arm believers with biblical truth, wisdom and knowledge in order to defeat the destructive effects of anxieties, fears and phobias

This seminar affirms the healing power of God to release and set free believers who are struggling with the torment of anxieties, fears and phobias, and provides helpful insights into understanding the nature and roots of these issues and how to overcome them in daily living.

Handling Grief and Bereavement
(one-day seminar)

During the course of our lives, many of us will be touched and affected by dramatic, life-altering events. Not least of these dramatic events is the loss of a loved one, whether expected or unexpected.

As a response to personal loss, grief can vary from person to person. Even so, any significant loss can throw a person into emotional turmoil or dysfunction, resulting in some cases in prolonged distress.

Such unresolved, prolonged grief can open the door to spiritual, emotional and physical problems that potentialy can paralyze a person’s well-being and spiritual development. Therefore, it is important for us—while we have the opportunity—to know and understand how to handle grief and bereavement when they touch us, and how to support and minister to others who have been touched likewise.

This seminar provides helpful insights and understanding into the journey through grief and beyond. It examines loss as a normal part of life, and how different people respond to such loss. This is followed by a walk through the grief process and its different aspects before concluding with God’s words of truth and comfort.

Healing Families and Generations
(one-day seminar)

Hurting people will go on hurting people! Thus when two adults with unresolved personal and spiritual issues come together in marriage and start a family, the potential for marriage conflict and family dysfunction is increased many times over.

The rise in incidences of separation, divorce, domestic violence and juvenile dysfunction among Christian couples and families, is growing evidence of this truth. Sad to say, this picture of couples and families in pain is so far from the plan and purposes of God for couples, marriage and families.

Despite the many difficulties, obstacles and challenges that stand in the way, it is possible in God to heal and restore broken families and generations - provided the individuals concerned are willing to address and resolve the root issues and causes of their conflicts in the first place.

This seminar provides participants with a biblical understanding of God's call and purpose for families and generations, and offers spiritual and practical lessons in the healing and restoration of individuals, families and generations to God's ideal for them.

Understanding and Overcoming Rejection
(one-day seminar)

We live in a world full of rejected people – rejected by parents, families, and societies - and rejected people are deeply hurt and wounded people. More often than not, they are rejected for the way they look, the way they think and behave, their racial origins, gender, sexual orientation, or their social status in life.

In fact, how we perceive a particular person - or group of people - is often coloured by our positive or negative encounters and experiences with such people. As a result, our perceptions of people or people groups can be warm and enthusiastic, or they can be biased, prejudiced, distorted and skewed.

We consciously or unconsciously admire, respect, accept and are drawn to people who are successful, good-looking, smart, intelligent, and interesting, while dismissing all others as in the crowd as plain, ordinary, bland, stupid, good-for-nothing, or useless.

Children and young people are particularly vulnerable to rejection. They are hungry for love, affirmation and acceptance - among their peers but especially from their parents. If this is not forthcoming, there is a good likelihood that such children and youth will grow up with a love deficit in their lives, only to manifest the fruit of their own rejection in their adult lives.

The good news is that rejection can be healed and overcome. On the cross, Jesus exchanged our pain and rejection for His healing and acceptance. This seminar helps participants to understand the work and nature of rejection, their characteristics and manifestations, roots and causes, and offers helpful keys to help victims break free from the deep wounds of their rejection.

Healing the Human Spirit
(one-day seminar)

The Bible tells us that all three parts of a human person - spirit, soul, and body - are imporant for our full personality, spiritual formation, relation to God, and well being. Hence, the believer should aim to be sanctified completely so that "our whole spirit, soul and body (may) be preserved blameless at the coming our our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 5:23).

The Bible also tells us that it is possible for the human spirit to be wounded, broken or crushed (Psalm 34:18), through sin or spiritual attack. This is because Satan contends for whatever is important to God: inflicting believers with different forms of wounds and disorders, thereby preventing them from properly functioning as God intends.

This seminar looks at how such wounding of the human spirit can take place: their nature, roots and origins, and offers biblical truths and remedies for their lasting healing.

Understanding the Dilemma of Homosexuality
(one-day seminar)

Homosexuality: Is this something the Church needs to deal with? The answer is a definite and resounding “Yes!”

The evangelical church is now being forced, by the increasing prominence given to same-sex relationships and activities, to engage the issue and recognize that the homosexual dilemma is not going to go away. While some homosexuals are asking: “Why must we be singled out as spiritual liabilities? Why can’t the Church see that we are hurting people who want help just like other sinners?” there are also those who say, “Being a homosexual is my choice. Why can’t my homosexual choice be accepted as a norm in the Church?”

This contrasting perspective of homosexuality has created a dilemma for the Church: to what extent they are to bring hope and healing to homosexuals, and to what extent they are to let them suffer the consequences of their choice; whether to reject practising homosexual as outright sinners who don’t deserve help, or to emphasize the sinfulness of the homosexual lifestyle while at the same time making a concerted effort to effectively reach out to struggling individuals with the transforming power of the gospel of Christ.

This Understanding the Dilemma of Homosexuality seminar is an attempt to address the issue from an open, compassionate yet biblical perspective, and with a view to providing realistic help for those struggling spiritually under the burden of guilt, condemnation and rejection. Participants would be given an historical overview of the issue—how the homosexual explosion and dilemma came about in the first place—followed by an examination of the roles and contributions nature and nurtue make in causing homosexuality, and concluding with practical guidelines for dealing with the issue, in particular principles to be observed in the road to recovery.

Free from Addiction
(one-day seminar)

Many people, including Christians, have some form of addiction or another; more often than perhaps we would like to admit! As long as there is an addiction, there is poor self control and loss of the proper use of free-will which God gave us. There is always a reason for the over indulgenge or slavery in our lives: dissatisfaction with something or someone, fear of failure or actual failure, escape from a life situation, or inability to face problems—not knowing where to turn—and trusting in human efforts and programmes rather than turning to God and submitting to God who has the answer for all life’s circumstances.

Nothing is impossible with God, as He wants—even more than we understand—to give us a fruitful and abundant life.

Some of the addictions the seminar will address include addictions to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and sex. These will be covered to the extent of being able to know the underlying causes, the effects and consequences of addictions, and where God can step in to bring freedom. Other addictions will include shopping and compulsive spending, gambling, talking and gossiping, hoarding, cleaning and workaholism, apart from the addictions of recent years: of the television, internet, sports and even religiosity .

From these insights, participant will be able to extrapolate the life situations of any other forms of addictions. Indeed the background life situations of those afflicted are often similar, and God is able to set free—but on His terms, thereby leading us to die with Him at the Cross so that we may live again in newness of life. This Seminar will also explore why some people suffer from addictions of one kind or another; it will also look into the devastating consequences of some addictions on individuals, families, and others. Addressed will also be addictions that have ruined societies, tribes and nations. Finally, the seminar will look to God with contrite hearts and broken spirits to seek His love, forgiveness and restoration.
